Hello friends.
The pattern of UGC
NET exam has changed and here I am presenting you an article with tips and
tricks on how to pass the UGC NET exam easily.
Change number 1: Paper 1 will have only 50 questions and all
are compulsory questions.
Till last year, there used to be 60 questions and out of
which 50 questions were to be answered.
The advantage of having 60 questions is that you can easily
leave those 10 questions which are doubtful.
But now you got to answer them all with the changed pattern.
So you got to hone and sharpen your reasoning,
comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness. The key here is
solving as many questions as possible.
Change number 2: There is no individual cutoff for each
paper as it used to be in the previous years.
There will be an aggregate cutoff of 40% marks of all three
papers for general category and 35% aggregate cutoff marks for all other
categories.
It is indeed a welcome step as even if a candidate does not perform
well in any one of the papers, he/she has a greater chance of performing really
well in other two papers and try to fill
the mark gap created by that one paper. It is indeed a win-win situation.
There are two approaches to become successful in the changed
pattern.
Approach 1: Give equal importance to all three papers and
you will be sure enough to succeed easily.
This approach will work if you have good knowledge in general
paper 1 and good amount of knowledge in paper 2 and paper 3.
Approach 2: Give utmost importance to any 2 of the 3 papers.
It is mandatory that you study thoroughly any 2 of the 2 papers and even if you
have average knowledge in the other paper, then even this strategy will suffice
to be in the rankers list.
For example,
Study thoroughly Paper 1 and Paper 2 and average knowledge
in paper 3
(Or)
Study thoroughly Paper 2 and Paper 3 and average knowledge
in Paper 1
(Or)
Study thoroughly Paper 1 and Paper 3 and average knowledge
in Paper 2
It depends upon the candidates because some will be really
good in paper 1 and some will be extremely good in their respective subjects(paper
2 and 3). So its upto you to decide.
Approach 2 is applicable if you really have less amount of
time.
But I would recommend Approach 1 right now as almost three
months time is there before you write the
exam and it is more sufficient to cover the entire stuff easily.
But the biggest point to be noted is that just by getting
the cumulative aggregate cut off marks, passing the exam is not guaranteed. You
have to be in the top 6% of cut off list decided by UGC depending upon the
marks secured by other candidates. Now the question arises is it possible to be
within the top 6% to be declared qualified.
The answer is yes if you dedicate yourself for the exam by solving
previous year questions and practicing a lot of model questions. Smart work is
the key for success.
I will soon be posting more tips and tricks to pass the
exam.
Stay tuned and share it with your friends.
Wishing you good luck and great success ahead.
With regards,
Tanveer………
