TIPS ON HOW TO CLEAR PAPER 2 AND PAPER 3 OF UGC NET COMPUTER SCIENCE

HOW TO PASS PAPER 2 AND PAPER 3 OF UGC NET COMPUTER SCIENCE

Welcome back friends.
Today I desire to unlock some tips and tricks on how to pass paper 2 and paper 3 of UGC NET COMPUTER SCIENCE.

Tip No. 1:
From June 2012, UGC has shifted to objective mode, which was a good news for many but the problem is that the candidate has to get the minimum cut off marks in each paper and also get the minimum cumulative score when the total of all three papers is added together to get qualified in the exam.

For example, If a candidate gets 50 in paper 1, 45 in paper 2 and 76 in paper 3.
Though the candidate has got the minimum cutoff marks in each paper, the candidate has not passed the examination because the cumulative score of all the three papers is only 171 which is less than that of the cumulative score fixed by UGC(for example: 192).

Bottom line: It is a generally accepted fact that Paper 3 is somewhat difficult, so you got focus more on paper 1 and paper 2. That is, try to score more and more marks in paper 1 and paper 2, which will definitely help you boost your cumulative score and you will be in high confidence level when you attend the third paper.

Tip 2: Strategy on how to clear Paper 3 of UGC Net Computer Science
We all know that there are 75 questions in paper 3 which candidates feel that they are tough but that's not the truth.
However, tough an exam may be, there will be 4 models of questions in each paper namely:
1. Easy type
2. Normal type
3. Difficult type
4. Most difficult type

As UGC does not give negative marks to wrong answers, candidates should not mark the answers just like that thinking that it may be right by chance. That is not a good practice and more importantly, it will decrease your confidence level.
So, firstly, you got to go through the entire set of questions once or twice and circle all those questions which you know and mark them in the OMR sheet.
In the next round, try to solve doubtful questions. That is, You know out of the four options, two options are false and the answer lies in the other two options only. In such a case, try to choose the best option and probably, you may end up marking the right answer.

Then go for difficult questions and read those questions along with the answer options with utmost attention and you may have better chances to mark the right answers.
By the way, you would have almost crossed the winning post.(i.e., You would have got the required number of marks to clear 3rd paper)

Bottomline: Don't attempt questions of paper 3 with predetermined fear that they will be tough and how am I going to get it right.
Go with a free and relaxed mind. As a matter of fact, If you prepare smartly, then you can easily pass this exam with flying colours.

Tip 3: What books to study.
Additionally, you got to study various books on Discrete structures, Compiler design, Data structures, OS, Software Engineering, DBMS, Networks, Neural Networks, Information coding, AI, DLF, MP, Computer Graphics, etc.
