UGC NET COMPUTER SCIENCE SYLLABUS AND SCHEME OF EXAM

Welcome Friends!

This site is specially dedicated to everyone in general and to those preparing for UGC NET and SET of various universities in particular.

What is SET/NET exam?

SET exam is conducted by the respective state university recognized by UGC.

Passing SET exam will enable the qualified candidate to get a job as assistant professor in a college/university in the respective state to which he belongs.
NET exam is conducted by UGC itself and passing this exam makes a candidate eligible for getting a job as assistant professor in any Indian University/College all over India.

Qualification:

You Got to be a Post Graduate in a particular subject(example:Computer Science or any subject).

Note:You got to start preparation soon to clear it in your first attempt.

You can even write this exam during your final semester of your post graduation.

Scheme of exam:

Paper-1 : General paper - Which is common to all candidates (60 questions out of which the candidate is supposed to mark only 50 objective questions(50x2=100marks)) (This paper consists of stuff from history, polity, environment, aptitude, current affairs, english, teaching, etc.)

Paper-2 :  This paper is related to subject studied by the candidate at post graduate level(Ex.Computer Science and applications) (50 objective questions (50x2=100marks))

Paper-3 :  This paper consists of  75 objective type questions related to the candidates post graduate degree(Ex.:Computer Science and applications) (75x2=150marks)

Strategy:

Paper 1: Syllabus for General Paper 1 Click here

Tips: Paper 1 is more general knowledge based. To succeed in this paper, analyzing previous years papers is vital. Questions will be very easy. As mentioned above, this paper has 60 objective questions and the candidate is supposed to attempt only 50 questions, which most of the students fail to understand and they mark all the questions and as a result of which only the top 50 questions are evaluated and the last 10 questions even if they are right they are not considered for valuation.
So candidates are supposed to be careful with it.
 Buy Books for Paper 1:
1. UPKAR'S UGC NET PAPER 1 BOOK
2. TRUEMAN'S UGC NET PAPER 1 BOOK

Paper 2: Second paper is related to Computer science though very easy in nature. Most of the questions can be answered easily if one revises the basics of what the candidate has studied from his graduation days.(ex.: c,c++,java, software testing, software engineering, object oriented programming structures, object oriented analysis and design, data structures, digital logic fundamentals, microprocessor, etc. Follow previous years papers carefully.

Note: Third paper will be evaluated only if both paper1 and paper2 is passed by the candidate.

Paper 3: This is the most crucial paper where a lot of efforts is needed to crack the exam with flying colours.

All that is said in paper-2 relates to paper-3 too but learn more in depth.
Vital stuff regarding all the three papers will be posted on my blog.

  20. Walaikumassalam.
Yes you can start the preparation now itself. At this point of time, refer your semester syllabus and look out for the portions similar to that of net exam syllabus and prepare accordingly. Then from second year do intensive preparation by referring reference books for each and every subject and go through previous year papers also.
    All the best.
