UGC NET PAPER 1: TIPS AND TRICKS ON HOW TO SCORE MORE MARKS

UGC NET PAPER-1 HIGH MARKS SCORING TIPS
Hi friends.
Today I wish to give you all some important and vital tips on how to score more marks in paper-1 of UGC NET and SET by avoiding some of the most commonly done mistakes.

As you are all aware of the fact that Paper 1 consists of 60 questions and the areas covered in it include
General Knowledge
Current Affairs
Reasoning and analogy
English comprehension
Data interpretation
Computers
Teaching
Research Methodology
General Mental Ability,etc.

So out of those 60 questions, you know that you got to attend only 50 questions. But the most important error that most of the candidates do is they mark all the 60 questions or mark the first 50 questions without even going through the question paper at least once.

Problem: What happens when you mark all 60 questions.

Solution: Your last 10 questions will not be  considered for evaluation and only your first 50 questions will be taken in to account.
The most important thing that needs to be noted is that most of the easy questions will be asked only in the last 10 questions and so by marking all the 60 questions, you lose the chance of getting more marks.
So, don't do this mistake.

Tips and Tricks on how to score more marks in UGC NET exam.

Go through the paper once and make a mark of those questions that you know well to be encircled in the OMR sheet.

Don't get stuck on a single question. If you don't know the answer for a particular question, go ahead and try to solve other questions. More importantly, don't mark the answer for the question you don't know because it will break your confidence level.

Time management is also very important. You get only 75 minutes to solve the paper. So you should solve a question within 65-70 seconds to complete the paper on time and recheck your answers.

HOW TO SOLVE THE QUESTION PAPER?

Stage 1: Mark all the well known questions first.

Stage 2: Try to answer those doubtful questions which you feel may be right.  I mean to say that out of four options, you were able to eliminate two wrong options and  you  know that the answer exists among any of the two probable options. Luckily, you may choose the right option too.

Stage 3: Finally, answer those difficult questions by choosing the most appropriate option which you may think to be right. Another important thing is that keep a count on the number of questions that you have marked and make sure that it does not cross the 50 questions limit.

Important Note:
Many of the candidates take Paper 1 very lightly thinking that it is very easy to clear paper 1 of UGC NET. Of course, it is very easy to clear this paper but it is to be remembered that scoring high marks in this paper will help you in your cumulative/aggregate score. Because, earlier UGC kept only minimum qualifying marks to qualify in this exam but nowadays, you got to score that cutoff marks which varies from time to time. So be careful and give utmost importance to paper 1 too to clear the exam with flying colours.

All the best for UGC NET December 2013 exam.
